Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 : Welcome to God's own Country | Cochin To Munnar.

Welcome to God’s Own Country – Kerala! Upon arrival at Cochin Airport, embark on a picturesque drive through winding roads surrounded by lush greenery as you head toward the charming hill station of Munnar. Known for its rolling tea plantations, sparkling rivulets, colonial bungalows, and gushing waterfalls, Munnar offers a refreshing escape with its cool, pleasant climate. Along the way, enjoy stops at aromatic spice plantations and take in the beauty of Valara and Cheeyappara Waterfalls. Upon reaching Munnar, check in to your hotel, relax, and unwind. End your first day with a peaceful night’s rest amidst nature. 

Day 2 : Sightseeing In Munnar | Spotting Nilgiri Tahr.

After a delectable morning breakfast, set out from the hotel by 9:00 AM for a full-day sightseeing tour of Munnar. Begin with visits to some of the region’s most scenic spots, including Photo Point, the tranquil Mattupetty Dam and Lake, the echoing charm of Echo Point, the serene Kundala Lake, and the lush Sevenmallay Tea Estate or the insightful Tata Tea Museum. In the afternoon, explore the majestic Eravikulam National Park, Kerala’s largest national park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and perfect for soft trekking amidst rolling hills and rich biodiversity. After a day immersed in natural beauty and adventure, drive back to the hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay, marking the end of another delightful day in Munnar. 

Day 3 : Munnar to Thekkady | Visit to Periyar National park & Traditional show.

After checking out from the hotel, begin your journey to Thekkady, a beautiful destination known for its wildlife and spice-scented air. En route, immerse yourself in the rich biodiversity of Periyar National Park. For a truly unforgettable experience, consider booking a boating safari on Periyar Lake in advance via the Periyar Tiger Reserve website, as spots are limited and in high demand. You can also enjoy a memorable elephant ride at Elephant Junction (at your own expense). If time permits in the evening, visit the Kadathanadan Kalari Centre, renowned for its traditional Kalaripayattu martial arts show, held daily from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, offering a glimpse into Kerala's vibrant culture. Later, check in to your hotel and unwind for a comfortable overnight stay in Thekkady. 

Day 4 : Thekkady to Alleppey | Cruising through the Backwaters.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, proceed to the serene village of Alleppey, nestled on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Renowned for its tranquil backwaters, swaying palm trees, and iconic floating houseboats, Alleppey offers a perfect escape into nature’s calm. Day 5 : Alleppey to Cochin | Departure day.

Begin your day with a beautiful sunrise over the backwaters, followed by a hearty breakfast on the houseboat. After checking out, you will be transferred to Kochi Airport, Railway Station, or Bus Stand for your return journey. If time permits, enjoy some final sightseeing by visiting Alleppey Beach, the Lighthouse, and the serene Marari Beach, known for its peaceful, less-crowded ambiance—perfect for a relaxing end to your trip. With that, it's time to wind up your expedition, taking home not just souvenirs, but a heart full of cherished memories and moments from Kerala.

• VM HOLIDAYS may alter the itinerary due to factors beyond control, such as natural disasters, weather conditions, or road closures.
• Please provide your flight details to the operator before your travel date.
• Heavy rainfall is common from June to September, leading to potential itinerary changes. If roads are blocked due to landslides or other calamities, alternative sightseeing will be arranged. Customers must bear the cost of alternative accommodations as per the hotels' cancellation policies.
• All 3 Meals are included on the houseboat.
• If any sightseeing cannot be completed due to time constraints, traffic jam, natural calamity, travelers starting late, permits issued late or any other reason beyond control, VM HOLIDAYS is not liable for refunds or discounts.
• Airfare, train fare, and bus fare are not part of the package.
• Maintain eco-friendliness during the tour and avoid littering.
• Valid identification is required during booking and upon arrival, except PAN card is not considered valid address proof.
• Personal expenses are not covered in the package.
• Rescheduling Policy: a) Private (Standard & Deluxe Package) & Group Bookings:
• Rescheduling within 7 days after booking until 15 days before travel incurs a 30.0% rescheduling fee.
• Rescheduling 0 to 15 days before travel incurs a 100.0% cancellation fee.
• No rescheduling or modifications allowed for bookings made within 15 days of travel.
• Private (Super Deluxe) & Hotel Specific Bookings: No modifications or rescheduling allowed. Standard cancellation policy applies.
• In cases of force majeure events, VM HOLIDAYS reserves the right to reschedule tours or offer alternative itineraries for the safety of clients and staff.
• Cancellation after rescheduling: Clients who cancel after rescheduling will be subject to the standard cancellation policy, with rescheduling fees being non-refundable.
